Resources
If you think you may be anxious or depressed you can perform a self-test
by clicking on the link above. This is not intended to be a substitute
for an assessement by a professional but it may help you to bring your
feelings into focus and to take action.
- Anxiety:
- We all experience feelings of anxiety from time-to-time, and it really
is an inescapable facet of modern life. These feelings can build to
the point when they impede your ability to function happily; in more
acute cases they can be fully-fledged panic attacks, with physiological
'fight-flight' symptoms.
- Depression:
- Likewise, we can all feel low from time-to-time, and at times keeping
a stiff upper lip begins to feel impossible. In more acute cases there
are definite physiological and chemical changes in your body for which
your GP might even prescribe you a remedy.
-
In either case, if your syptoms are significant, see your GP and consider
talking to a counsellor about whether therapy might be appropriate.
